FiveSibes #FlashbackFriday Returns! Remembering a House Full of Huskies

Image
Our FiveSibes™Flashback Photo ~ Christmas 2014 We are happy to be back with our #FiveSibes #FlashbackFriday Blog Hop just in start for the howliday and snowy season, to the tune of 18" of the fresh white sparkling powder! This Christmas will truly be a different one...it is the first Christmas without our alpha queen Harley and pupster Chloe. To suddenly be down to a pack of two is indeed a very strange thing. It's been sad and surreal to go through our daily routine with Wolfie and Bandit and no sister Chloe or "mama" Harley...I still have a hard time without my beloved Gibson, and this month it will be four years he has been celebrating Christmas at the Rainbow Bridge, along with my dear mother. This card sums up my feelings perfectly. Now that our Harley and Chloe have joined them, and as you know from my last post and the reason for our blogging break, it has been very difficult to adjust to their passing both for me and for my pupsters Wolf and...

Bringing Home the Tree on a Huskies Sleigh on a FiveSibes Christmas Flashback Friday!

Image
The Hills Bringing Home the Christmas Tree, 2018! Photo used with permission. In our FiveSibes Family Christmas tradition, the holiday season lasts until what we refer to as "Little Christmas," or January 6th (which also happens to be my furangel Gibson's birth date, how special is that?)! So, for today's last 2018 seasonal Flashback Friday post, I'm sharing a lovely "Bringing Home the Tree" photo above from fellow Husky momma, Karen Hill from Minnesota. To me, the is the absolute perfect way to bring home the tree...on a Huskies-drawn sleigh! Woo! "We didn't realize we were making memories we just knew we were having fun."  ~Winnie the Pooh Now with five Siberian Huskies, you'd think we'd have hooked them up once or twice to a sled, but no, my Huskies are citified! Two of them would prefer to ride on the sled, rather than pull one! The closest I've come to a "sled dog" is when we staged a photo tha...

Wrapping Up Christmas, Husky Style!

Image
"Woo. I like this paper." Woo! We love the holidays here at FiveSibes! No matter what we are doing, they love to join in. So it's now time for wrapping and I sure do have some pretty awesome elves, Harley and Bandit, to help me! (Wolf and Chloe decided to settle down for a long winter's nap, instead)! "Are we done yet? Is it treat time?" We are a bunch of foodies here, especially during the holiday season, so when all the wrapping was done for the day (still have lots more to do), my FiveSibes were ready for their treat. So it was a yummy cheeseburger snack for my hungry Husky elves!  "Nommm-nomm! Thanks, Mom!"  Have you had a chance to check out our FiveSibes™#LiveGibStrong  Gift Guide for Epi-Dogs (and all dogs really!)?  We have gathered up a collection of some really cool items for your pup we think you'll love to check out!  Click HERE to view our very special Gift Guide! 'Tis the Season for Greeting Cards! Recycle Those Used Stamps To Help Dogs in Need!

Christmas Flashback Moment: Wolf 2015 Shhhhh...we're strolling down a snowy Memory Lane and peeking through the Flashback window to the inside of our FiveSibes homestead at Christmastime, when our Huskies were all excited about getting and receiving holiday cards! (I always joke, but am quite serious, they received FAR more cards than us humans do!)   Flashback Friday Photo Moment: Wolf & Gib 2014 I t's fond past moments like these that brings loved ones back for a brief visit. While all my FiveSibes seem to get more excited during the holidays, Gibson was our holiday Husky elf! He seemed to always enjoy sporting his jingling-jangling reindeer collar (or humoring his hu-mom!) and spreading Christmas cheer wherever he strolled! Greeting cards are a favorite of mine. I will admit, that since the passing of my mother and Gibson three years ago, I hit the pause button on sending out greetings. In the top photo of Wolf with their many cards in their "mai...
