Goodbye To Our #FiveSibes Beautiful Bandit ~ Love You Always, Sweet Bee

Image
I certainly did not expect to be writing this at this point in time...a heartbreaking memorial for our beautiful girl, Bandit. We've been enjoying the beautiful Autumn weather in our new house in a new town that has been filled with engaging walks with Bandit and brother Wolfie filled with exciting exploration of the surrounding nature's beauty, new neighbors, and new doggie friends. Both Bandit and Wolf adjusted so well.  A recent portrait I love of Bandit and Wolfie in our backyard my daughter took.   Buddies...Bandit & my grandson!   Today, a glorious Autumn day filled with falling leaves and a crispness to the air, Bandit and Wolf were watching my toddler grandson--the pupsters' very best and favorite human--play with his trains out on the deck. But our day suddenly took a fast and heartbreaking turn before the sun set. Our sweet Bee (one of our many nicknames for our girl, Bandit!), who along with her brother Wolf, would be turning 13 this January so while our P...

Peep-A-Boo, Leaves, on a Flashback Friday!

Image
Flashback ~ Bandit ~ Autumn 2017   Our Bandit is the silly dog of our pack! Always one to dig out fun, whether it is a pile of leaves or a pile of snow! She is always down for a good laugh! This Flashback photo was taken several years ago when I was calling the dogs in, and I could not find her! Suddenly, I heard the crunch crinkle of leaves and saw her down in our yard tunneling through the leaves from our maple tree! Our silly girl, Bandit! AUTUMN WOODS by James S. Tippett I like the woods In autumn When dry leaves hide the ground, When the trees are bare And the wind sweeps by With a lonesome rushing sound. I can rustle the leaves In autumn And I can make a bed In the thick dry leaves That have fallen From the bare trees Overhead.     You're Invited!   Come join us each week and share your Memory Lane pics from yesteryear or yesterday. Remembering Our Beautiful Queen, Harley ❤️

Flashback: Our Beautiful FiveSibes alpha queen "Harley" ~ October 2018   Time is indeed surreal. One year ago, on September 13th, on a beautiful sunny pre-Autumn day, our beautiful beloved Nanuk "Harley" Mari, our FiveSibes alpha queen, earned her furangel wings at home, in her favorite place--in our yard out on our deck, with her hu-family and fur family beside her.    Our family's first Siberian Husky, my daughter's beloved dog, Harley was an absolutely amazing girl. She knew just how beautiful she was, too! Super smart, she ruled the Husky roost at our house! Harley was full of sass and spunk, and could chase her tail until the sun set! She loved Fetch! and never wanted us to stop playing! She accepted every Husky we added to our family after her, becoming Gibson's true love (oh, was he ever smitten with her!), and a wonderful "momma" to the three pupsters Wolfie, Chloe, and Bandit when we brought them home.    This beauty queen could at t...

Dog Days of a Sibe's Summer: Sprinkler Fun!

Image
Woo! It sure has been a hot summer! FiveSibes Wolfie and Bandit have been keeping their cool by taking runs through our lawn sprinkler! Pictured here, my boy Wolf takes a moment to feel the coolness of the water as it sprinkles down on him! Hope you are all staying safe and cool!                   “If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water.”   ~ Loren Eiseley     We are joining in The Pet Parade Blog Hop today!  Hosted by Barking on the Bayou , Dash Kitten & Bionic Basil ! Rain, Rain, Go Way!

Our FiveSibes pupsters Wolfie and Bandit were out and back in as quick as their wet little paws could move! My boy Wolfie poked his head out while getitng toweled off ho;\ping Isaias blew away! Huskies do not like rain! Funny, they love the sprinkler, though! We hope all who are also in the storm's path are all safe and dry! Back to our FiveSibes Blog Home Page Visit our FiveSibes Website

Remembering Chloe

Image
How can it be one year ago already that our dear pack sweetheart, Chloe, suddenly left us for the Rainbow Bridge ? Always happy, chatty, and hungry, Chloe was the sweetest dog. She loved to talk, and she loved to eat. When she suddenly stopped both, it was an alarming sign. To think she suddenly succumbed to advanced liver disease that had never even shown a sign in any previous tests, still just blows my mind. The phone call that said, "it's bad" and then the urgently needed vet visit immediately following. How? But if there is any comfort, it is in knowing we were able to let her gently and peacefully make her journey in the familiar, loving surrounding of our home and her siblings and "mama" Harley. Above is a favorite photo of our girl, who was my girl's best furry friend, with a handmade FiveSibes snowflake from their Auntie Holly. Oh, how Chloe loved to pose upon the couch or on one of our chairs! She was truly a princess pup. “Time is like a riv...

An End to a Reign: Goodbye Beautiful Harley, Alpha Queen of the FiveSibes

Image
As a gentle late summer breeze blew, our beloved Harley passed peacefully outside at home today in the early afternoon, held by my daughter and I, and wrapped in so much love. Standing nearby their surrogate mother's side were Wolf and Bandit. While our hearts are truly broken again, after just losing our sweet Chloe in June, Harley is free now from pain and running with both Gibson and Chloe, North of the Rainbow Bridge.  “Dogs’ lives are short, too short, but you know that going in. You know the pain is coming, you’re going to lose a dog, and there’s going to be great anguish, so you live fully in the moment with her, never fail to share her joy or delight in her innocence, because you can’t support the illusion that a dog can be your lifelong companion. There’s such beauty in the hard honesty of that, in accepting and giving love while always aware that it comes with an unbearable price.” – Dean Koontz Future FiveSibes Alpha Queen My daughter and Harley....
