#LiveGibStrong 5th Annual #NEAM Epi-Dogs Callout: We Want to Hear Your K9 Epilepsy Stories!

Woo! It's time for a callout for our Fifth Annual #NEAM (November Epilepsy Awareness Month) #EpiStar Features! I f you are a follower of my blog and social media , you are already aware N ovember is a spe cial month here for awareness,  where I highlight not only information on Canine Epilepsy, but also share amazing stories about Epi-dogs (dogs who have epilepsy) from across the world.  My ambassadorship, books, and articles on Canine Epilepsy were all inspired by my own Epi-dog Gibson’s story, who was diagnosed shortly after his third birthday with idiopathic epilepsy (and was put on a anti-seizure medications and supplements, plus I adjusted his diet and environment). Gibson had an amazing zest for life and never let seizures stop him from being my big, fluffy, loving, sweet boy. Eventually, we were able to manage his seizures, and he lived the last seven years of his life seizure free!  Gibson inspired me to become an official Purple Day® for Epilepsy K9 ambassador...

As many of you who follow me know, through my FiveSibes  #LiveGibStrong and #Paws4Purple educational initiatives I always try to bring you important and valid information on current research and news about Canine Epilepsy. I'm sharing today that the American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Health Foundation released a new article, "Together, We Can Turn the Tide on Canine Epilepsy," and it's an important one!   "Epilepsy is the most common neurological disorder in dogs, affecting roughly 1 in 100 dogs."   ~AKC Canine Health Foundation As we know, epilepsy can affect any breed or mix breed of dog, anywhere in the world. A day when we #GoPurple to bring awareness to epilepsy in all forms and show the world it's not something to be feared and highlight important information and amazing success stories of those living with epilepsy and seizures. Here, at FiveSibes, we're about dogs, so we will be discussing Canine Epilepsy and hoping to turn social media purple in honor of all Epi-dogs, humans, cats, rabbits, and even horses who live with epilepsy.       Join us - it's simple!
