Remembering Our Sweet Chatty Pupster, Chloe

"You left your sweet pawprints on our hearts."
 ~Dorothy "FiveSibesMom"

There wasn't a sweeter dog. This girl, although the chattiest of our FiveSibes, and the loudest of our #Pupsters trio, she was the sweetest, most easy going dog. She loved her meals and treats and would let know - loudly, impatiently, and continuously - that she wanted them, and now! BOL! She would sit like an angel and verbalize her wishes until the dish or treat was given to her! When my first grandchild arrived, she would lay in her dog bed in the living room and watch him play and eventually walk, and drop his yogurt bites!

Sadly, that was the first clue when she became suddenly ill. She didn't want any snacks. Then she turned her nose away from food. At first, I thought it was just a tummy bug as they all had from time to time. Plus, she had just had her annual check-up four month prior and all was perfect. So, needless to say, when she stopped eating and then began vomiting, even after being put on medication, it was a huge concern.

After requesting a home visit and bloodwork, the news was not good—the sweetest girl of the bunch was in liver failure. Her numbers had soured to a crazy number, and next would be the shutdown of her organs. The vet assured us she was not yet in pain, even though I knew how much she loved food, it had to bother her not to eat, but she would be in pain soon. Our vet came right over and under a breezy sunny sky, dear Chloe journeyed to meet her big brother Gibson, who was waiting at the Rainbow Bridge as she earned her wings in my daughter's arms with her brother Wolfie, sister Bandit, and our Harley (their surrogate momma) all around her. Their losses are all tough, but Chloe's was a total shock, and will always feel that way to me.

How my FivesSibes loved to be together! L-R: Chloe, Harley, Gibson, Wolfie, and Bee. One of my fave leisurely group pics.

I sure hope she knows just how much she was loved and is missed, to this very day. I know she is once again chatting and wooing having been reunited with her whole pack family. I sure hope there are some yummy treats up there at Rainbow Bridge! If not, our dear "Coco Puff" will surely let them know!

  1. Fond and happy memories of a beautiful companion. May her next life be every bit as sweet as that she left behind in her old body.
