Memorial Day: Honoring Our Fallen Human & K9 Soldiers
"As
you enjoy your weekend with friends and family, we hope that you will
take a moment to recognize and reflect on those who made the ultimate
sacrifice in service to our country. Speak their names and tell their
stories with us," states Warrior Canine Connection. Warrior Canine Connection's mission "is a pioneering organization that utilizes a
Mission Based Trauma Recovery (MBTR) model to help recovering Warriors
reconnect with life, their families, their communities, and each other."
I am resharing this touching video highlighting some beautiful pups named after soldiers who sacrificed their all for our freedoms...
An excerpt from:
"They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncountered:
They fell with their faces to the foe...
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them...."

ReplyDeleteThanks for pointing that out! So sorry. I noticed it didn't post my pic either so I sent off an Email to see if we can get it fixed!
DeleteOkay, Florida Furkids, they fixed the techy issue and it's all good to go now! :-)
DeleteSo many wonderful heroes all of which we honor and remember!
ReplyDeleteMuch love to our heroes and their families.
ReplyDeleteYou shared beautiful poems. I used to stay somewhere with a distant neighbor who owned a Siberian Husky. Its eyes were mesmerizing.
ReplyDeleteAmazing, truly amazing post! We thank them too!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful post, Dorothy! I'm so glad you had spotlighted the warrior K9s we all need to remember this Memorial Day weekend. Your tips on keeping our pups safe this holiday are very valuable. Folks never seem to fully understand that taking these simple steps keeps their pups safe and avoids a tragedy. I love the Warrior Canine Connection. Such a great organization! Thanks for this post, Dorothy! I know it will be greatly appreciated by many, including me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful tribute! It's good to remember that Memorial Day is more than just a day to barbecue. There's a reason behind it. You have a wonderful way with words and I appreciate you sharing today.
ReplyDeleteI love the solder and the dog in silhouette, to touching and simple but so powerful. It is always worth reminding people that we lost cats and dogs in conflicts and still do.
