#FBF: Christmas Cards Bring Huskies Holiday Cheer!
#Flashback ~ Early December 2015 ~ Brothers "Wolfie" & "Gibson"
This was a special photograph (aren't they all?!). We used to join in the Blogville Christmas Card Exchange, and I'd save all the cards to open at one time together with them. Whether they caught the holiday spirit, or they caught whiffs of fellow pets of Blogville, my FiveSibes sure did get excited about Christmas cards! I bought this mailbox in 2015 to start putting all the cards in. What I didn't know was shortly after this photo, Gibson earned his furangel wings. To this day, I still have that mailbox with all the cards in it—unopened—as I kept them all, but just couldn't get myself to open them. Every time I open my closet, I see the lovely stuffed mailbox sitting on my shelf, but it's been 9 years and I still have not opened those cards. Maybe one day I will...right now, it's like those cards in that mailbox are frozen in time...and I know there's much love from fellow Blogville families in that mailbox, and guess since it's the last year I had all of my five, it somehow has become a special keepsake.
Have you ever done anything like that?

Sweet memories.
ReplyDeleteThey were filled with Christmas spirit all year round!
ReplyDeleteI doubt I would've opened the cards either. I lost my last horse right before Christmas. He so loved looking at all the lights in the neighborhood twinkle from his barn. Christmas is not the same without my boys (horses). They loved their Christmas mash and gifts. Funny how we try to freeze time and yet time keeps ticking. Wish I knew where the pause button was so we could forever stay in certain moments. Henry helps me now enjoy Christmas a bit more. He absolutely loves the tree and loves hopping through the snow. I swear he's part kangaroo. I love your books and coffee idea! Who wouldn't love coffee or one of your fabulous books? Wishing you a relaxing holiday with your family, Dorothy! (((Hugs)))
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful memory and the mail box is just adorable, I would not open the cards either as they are such precious memories and your photo shows how much, sending big hugs
ReplyDeleteI miss Blogville! I love getting holiday cards from my online friends. I never thought about putting my dog's scent on them so that online buddies can sniff them in the card! I love that!
ReplyDeleteI miss those card exchanges! I wish we could do it again. Rocco used to get piles of mail at Christmas time and it was such a fond memory.
