Sibe Summer Lovin' Had Me a Blast

"By all these lovely tokens September days are here, With summer's best of weather And autumn's best of cheer." ~Helen Hunt Jackson

With the arrival of Labor Day, also comes the unofficial end to summer. September is such a beautiful month. Perfect really. The temperatures are still warm. The waters still sparkle. And the crickets still chirp all lulling us into the false sense that summer is still here...after all, it's not the 23rd yet! But even with still humid days, although we do not wish to admit it, the sunlight is growing shorter and there is something in the air; while not yet the cool snap of Autumn, it is something. Something that tells us summer is ready to leave as Autumn beckons in the not-to-distant future, waiting in all of its golden glory of colorful foliage, crisp air, and pumpkins decorating the landscapes and our food!

I love September. But I admit I will miss the long, hazy, lazy days of summer when everything seems to be moving at slightly slower pace. The Huskies lounging in the air condition with us or splashing in their pool ~ sled dogs without a sled or snow just being bathing beauty Sibes. But they are ready, just as I am, for the coolness of Fall, to once again walk in the valley of colorful beauty, eat pumpkin everything until we've had our fill, and roll around in the fallen crunchy leaves. Yes, Labor Day weekend is upon us, and we prepare to bid a fond farewell to yet another summer, but Autumn is waiting right around the corner, waiting in all of its cool, colorful glory as only Autumn can.

So on this Labor Day Weekend, we wish you all the fun of summer as it winds down and quietly fades into seasons past before Autumn is upon us. For today's Flashback Friday moment, we travel back to 2013 to our local beach when Wolf enjoyed his very first visit to the sandy shores of the Hudson River. The very best part was watching his reaction to the sound of the waves lapping upon the shore and the feel of the cold water as it cascaded over his paws for the very first time. Joyful memories I look forward to one day repeating again.

"Summer always ends with good memories." ~Anonymous
