Full Strawberry Moon ~ Seizure Alert for Epi-Dogs

While the full "Strawberry Moon," which is the last full moon of the spring (peaks on June 11th) may be beautiful to look at, and...it is the lowest full Moon for nearly two decades (and is schedule to not appear again until 2043), it can also pose a trigger for some dogs with epilepsy. That is not to say *every* dog with a seizure disorder will be triggered, BUT it is a possibility that if you have an Epi-dog (dog with epilepsy) you may notice more agitation and an increase in seizures before, during, and even up to several days after a full moon.

Triggers *may* occur before, during, or after a phenomenon such as the Full Strawberry Moon.

As always, it's good to keep an eye out, and just have your seizure protocol in order and have your Epi First Aid Kit handy. Be sure to read my post for what to have in your dog's First Aid Kit.

You can read more about these types of triggers HERE on a previous post.

Here's hoping you and your Epi-dog enjoy the full moon seizure free!

  1. Until I read your sight I had no idea these things could be a trigger.
