Lingering Joys on a Flashback Friday

Image
This is the precious photo of two-year-old big brother Gibson giving a nuzzle to new little sister Chloe when she was just about 10 weeks old! I love this pic so much, you may recognize it...it's my FiveSibes Flashback Friday badge! Gibson was king of the deck when he used to be able to jump up on the bench and then climb onto the top of the log cabin style doghouse we kept out on the deck. He loved his perch so! When the Pupsters came along, they all tried bumping him off his perch, but wound up having to share the space. I'll always fondly remember these days!   All photos & articles © DWR/FiveSibes™ Lingering Joys The tide recedes, but leaves behind bright seashells on the sand. The sun goes down, but gentle warmth  still lingers in the land, The music stops, and yet it echoes on  in sweet refrains . . . For every joy that passes, something  beautiful remains. ~Anonymous Welcome to our weekly blog hop!  ...

Walkin' on Sunshine With Help From ToeGrips®: A FiveSibes Review

Image
ToeGrips made Gibson a happy Husky! *Updated December 2023* We are now a proud ToeGrips Affiliate (after being a very happy customer!) Many of you already are familiar with my boy Gibson's journey with Canine Epilepsy that I have blogged about here over the years. If you are new to my blog, you can check out our comprehensive FiveSibes #LiveGibStrong K9 Epilepsy Online Resource Library (or you can put "Gibson" or "Canine Epilepsy" in the search box to pull up the posts). Gibson, who was now nine at the time of this original post, had been on the medications Phenobarbital and Potassium Bromide since he was diagnosed at age three. While medications can manage seizures, the downside is the possible side effects, such as lethargy, weight gain, and weak hind issues, all of which Gibson experienced and lived with every day. Aside from the Conservative Care Management course of treatment I give him, which includes vitamin supplements, rehab walking in a lift harn...

Peek-A-Boo Husky!

What a character our Bandit is. Every class has a clown and she's our pack's! She just makes us laugh! Here's our beautiful silly Bee (in what I what I believe to be our conversation) with today's BOL moment!  Happy Monday!

Sweet Innocence on a Flashback Friday!

Image
Our sweet Pupsters Wolf, Bandit, and Chloe, all snuggling in their Husky puppy huddle at just eight weeks of age! What a crazy, hectic, fun time it was raising three puppies at once! They would play and tumble and fall fast asleep on top of each other. Always touching. How wonderful it is to see them grow up a bonded sibling family over the years and still to this day, at age seven, huddle together when they sleep, knowing they are safe, protected, and loved...always. Precious memories. "The best things about memories...is making them." ~Anonymous Welcome to our weekly blog hop!  Flashback Fridays are brought to you by us - the FiveSibes - and our new co-hosts, Love is being owned by a Husky , each Friday. We hope you'll find a photo or video from Memory Lane, post it, and link up to our blog hop each week! If you don't catch it on Friday, you can link up any time during the week! Wishing to Be Forever Homeward Bound...

These beautiful babies are just waiting for forever loving homes...could it be yours? Let's Meet Our Adoptable Stars... "Maya" Look at this sweet face! "Maya" is a 5-6 year-old white German Shepherd Epi-dog, whose has some seizures and sadly her family can no longer care for her and left her at the Ventura County Shelter (Camarillo), California. Unknown if she is on any meds. Please, if you can open your heart and home to this beautiful girl, you can consult with your vet to get her on an epilepsy treatment protocol and give her a wonderful loving home! I have lots of resources and info I'd be happy to share with any potential adoptive families. We need to get her out of the shelter and back into a home environment where she can thrive being part of a forever family! Epi-dogs make wonderful, loving pets! Just ask my Gibson! Another photo of Maya is on the shelter website.   Her shelter ID is ‪#‎ A494155‬ .  CONTACT: Ventura Cou...

Frozen Berry Yogurt Bites on a Tasty Tuesday & FREE Downloadable Pet Food Labels!

Wolf likes what he sees...fresh organic strawberries! Oh, it's such a wonderful time of year here for berries! Strawberries are ripened red and huge, as  you can see in this photo with Chloe! And the blueberries are oh-so plump and sweet! If your dog is anything like our FiveSibes, they love some berries mixed in with their food, or a sweet treat made with berries! Since it's almost summer, what's better than a cool fresh berry treat?            Bandit enjoying her frozen berry treat!                        Are Berries Good for my Dog? As with any new foods introduced to your dog, always consult your veterinarian first. Certain berries, in moderation, can be a healthy additive to your dog's diet. According to a University of Alaska study with sled dogs, "Blueberry supplementation did elicit significantly elevated anti...
