As we know, bath and grooming days for a Siberian Husky is an adventure! This past Friday was spa time at our FiveSibes homestead and prior to the actual bath time, I posted this pic of our Harley queen reigning over the empty bathtub on our FiveSibes Facebook page , and we had readers comment about how well our Sibes behave during bath and grooming time. For starters are very fortunate enough to have a groomer who does house calls and has become very familiar with my Huskies over the years. Previously, we did a drop-off at a grooming parlor, but it was traumatic for both Huskies, the staff, and me! Gibson even managed to get himself out of their kennel one time and was meandering around the room on his own! A real Husky Houdini! I love having my Sibes groomed in their own home environment, and since my diagnosis of Rhuemetoid Arthritis now prevents me from helping, my wonderful future son-in-law stepped in to help keep our Huskies feeling calm by assisting the groomer and supportin...

Our FiveSibes "twins" siblings Chloe and Wolf having some Siberific fun flashing back to when they were just two years old! They loved wrestling matches on the floor (sofa, bed, deck, yard, etc)! Happy  Mother's Day Husky-style from our FiveSibes to all Moms of human and fur kids! We hope you have a howling good day! I'd also like to give a big "thank you" to Frank Gonzales of the H2M2 Nation group on Facebook for featuring us as their cover photo today and including us in their wonderful tribute to Husky and Malamute Moms! We are honored! My day started off wonderfully when my daughter and her fiance served me a yummy mimosa, muffin, and chocolate-covered strawberries ~ yum! A beautiful Hallmark moment topped off the morning! (Yes, I'm big fan of sentimental cards!) And as you can see, Harley, our pupsters' surrogate momma, was checking everything out in the background! T/Sgt. Wills with two K9 buddies. Today, we are taking trip down Memory Lane to an important time in our American history. Seventy years ago today - May 8, 1945, was VE Day, Victory in Europe Day, signaling the nearing end of World War II. My dad served in the United States Army from 1939 until the end of World War II in 1945. He served two tours in the European Theater - one from 1942 until 1943 with the renowned "Big Red One" 1st Division, and then a second time he went back with the men he trained in the 16th Infantry's Rainbow Division, both times in a medical detachment. Ironically, May 8th is also the day my Dad earned his wings and journeyed to Heaven...in 1974, just one year shy of 30 years after he was one of our nation's "greatest generation" heroes.
